Prof. Paul Jules Declerck

received all his scientific degrees with Great Distinctions at the Catholic University in Leuven - the degree of Pharmacist in 1980, the Teaching diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences for Higher Secondary &Technical Schools in 1983, and the Ph. D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1984. He did his postdoctoral fellowship in The Rockefeller University, NY (1985-1986). In 1994-1996 he was employed as a Professor at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Catholic University of Leuven and since 1997 he is a Full Professor in the same Faculty. In 1998-2001 he was elected to be the Vice-Dean, and in 2001 the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Catholic University of Leuven. Professor Paul Declerck was invited to give Lectures at a number of international meetings and received several prestigious international Awards and Prizes. He published over 125 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals on different structural, functional and clinical aspects of plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1 (PAI-1).

The following are some of the most representative papers published by his laboratory during the last three years:
